Argonaut was proud to be a Gold sponsor for the not for profit organisation Youth Focus in their major fundraising event of the year, the Night of Night's. Since its inception ten years ago, the annual Ball has been a vital part of Youth Focus’ fundraising operations for the prevention of youth suicide, depression and self-harm. Over the past six years, Argonaut has been a key supporter of Youth Focus and the Ball, with Executive Director Janice Marcon being an active member on the Ball Committee.
The iconic Night of Night’s Ball held at Burswood Entertainment Complex, was an evening of enchantment and floral decadence on the first day of Spring. Guests were awash in hues of spring as they were invited to extend the traditional colour palette of a black tie soirée. The visual spectacular was accompanied by sumptuous food and wine and the traditionally secretive entertainment delighted the audience throughout the evening including Rachael Leahcar, second runner-up on the Voice Australia. The Night of Night's headline act was concert pianist David Helfgott whose life inspired the Oscar winning film "Shine." David captivated the audience with his extraordinary talent.
The 800 attendees were given an opportunity to take home some exquisite items from a major auction & silent auction and to purchase tickets in the raffle with one lucky guest winning a luxury trip for two with Emirates Airlines. Other exclusive life affirming opportunities were on offer, which will create memorable opportunities for the recipients and provide essential funding for Youth Focus.
The Night of Nights Ball raised over $420,000 which will help Youth Focus in their work to support vulnerable young people in WA. The not for profit organisation offers a range of mental health services, with a team of highly trained and skilled psychologists, social workers and occupational therapists providing a range of early intervention and prevention services free of charge.
Youth Focus provides their free service to over 900 young people in a way that is “youth friendly”, flexible, needs driven and personalised. They offer their services from their offices located in Burswood, Joondalup, Fremantle, Rockingham, Mandurah, Bunbury, Collie, and Albany as well as via their schools and outreach programs. These services are aimed at supporting young people and their families to overcome the issues associated with suicide, depression and self-harm.
