Key News Overnight:
Spot gold fell 1.3% to US$1,929/oz. Prices had risen as much as 1.1% during Powell’s speech.
Brent crude futures for October, which expire on Friday, fell 57 US cents, or 1%, to $45.18bbl. West Texas Intermediate crude futures settled 35 US cents, or 0.8%, lower at US$43.04bbl.
