Key News Overnight:
Spot gold dropped 1.9% to US$1,912/oz, after falling as much as 3.4% earlier in the session, its lowest since Aug. 12. U.S. gold futures settled down 2.6% at US$1,911/oz.
Overnight, the Dow Jones closed down 1.8% while the S&P 500 lost 1.9%.
