Technology stocks pulled Wall Street’s main indexes lower on Monday, with the Nasdaq Composite index falling about 1% as signs of growing inflationary pressures raised concern about monetary policy tightening. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 80 points, or 0.2%, to 34,302; the S&P 500 lost 17 points, or 0.4%, at 4,156; and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 112 points, or 0.8%, to 13,318.
