Key News Overnight:
Spot gold was up 0.6% at US$1,879/oz following two straight sessions of sharp declines. Bullion is down 0.3% this month. U.S. gold futures settled up 0.6% to US$1,880/oz.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 154 points, or 0.6%, to 26,502, the S&P 500 lost 40 points, or 1.2%, to 3,270 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 274 points, or 2.4%, to 10,916.
