Key News Overnight:
Spot gold was 0.6% lower at US$1,885/oz and down about 4% in September, on track for its worst monthly performance since Nov. 2016. U.S. gold futures settled down 0.4% at US$1,895/oz.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 329 points, or 1.2%, to 27,781, the S&P 500 gained 28 points, or 0.83%, to 3,363 and the Nasdaq Composite added 82 points, or 0.74%, to 11,168.
